Bluestacks – an Android emulator that allows its users to run Android apps and games on Windows Computers. Some people need it as a temporary Android device while some use it for testing apps and playing games. Today, we are going to show you how you can install APKs on Bluestacks, and run them like you are using your Android phones.
However, on downloading Bluestacks, you will only be able to gain access to the software. All the games and apps will not be installed in it by default. You need to search for the apps which you want and install on your Android device. Just like a new smartphone, only the default apps will be installed on Bluestacks.
There are two different methods using which one can install the APK file of any particular app or game which is compatible with Bluestacks. The steps involved in both methods are very much different from one another. Hence, you must understand each step thoroughly before executing it. So, please read this article very carefully.

Installing APK in BlueStacks App Player
Method 1
Step 1- Launch the Bluestacks Android emulator on your PC/laptop and click on the Google Play Store icon which is installed by default on Bluestacks.
Step 2- A search bar will appear on your screen. Type in the name of the app whose APK you wish to install in Bluestacks.
Step 3- A list of related results to the name which you have entered in the search bar will appear. Choose the appropriate result and click on the ‘Install‘ option to initiate the downloading that APK on Bluestacks. Once the APK is successfully downloaded, it will automatically get installed. You can start using it ASAP.
Method 2
Step 1- Search and download the APK file which you wish to install in Bluestacks from the internet.
Step 2- Now, launch Bluestacks on your PC. Click on the APK button which you will find on the sidebar.
Step 3- A dialog box will appear on your screen. Use this box to navigate to the location where you have downloaded the APK file.
Step 4- Once you find the APK file, click on it and then, click on ‘Open’ to install the APK file in Bluestacks. You can also drag and drop the APK file on the screen of Bluestacks to begin its installation. You can also use this method to install APK files in Bluestacks.
Method 3
Step 1- Search and download the APK file which you wish to install in Bluestacks from the internet.
Step 2- Now, go to the location where you have downloaded your APK file. Now, right-click on it.
Step 3- Then, select ‘Open with‘ from the drop-down box and click on ‘Bluestacks‘ to install the APK file in Bluestacks.
Once the APK installs successfully, you can use the app whenever you wish. A shortcut icon will appear on the home screen of Bluestacks. And another icon will appear on the menu. Double-click on either of the icons to launch the installed app using Bluestacks on your PC/laptop.

This article is very useful and explains what the APKs are. However, most of my other applications are not built on bluestone and are built on a standard APK which is not supported by the standard apk build.
I’m curious if Bluestakes can support this kind of thing? If that’s the case this sounds like it could be interesting for an in-house product such as Apple.
One of the most interesting things about APKs is that you can do the whole thing with the standard library. If I was forced into writing the APKs from scratch or was forced to use an abstract-heavy language, like C, I would have much less trouble writing the APKs that get used by me.
I’m curious about what the main benefit of writing in blueOS is for non-native APIs. If you don’t want any kind of support for non-native APIs for your APIs, I’d suggest writing a wrapper over the official API and providing the API to a specific set of platforms that support the official API.
When I try to install BlueStack, I”m asked what file I want to use to open it. Nowhere does there seem to be any information for this. Unless I can install the program properly, it’s pretty useless, isn’t it?
